In fact it is in our hand to keep the
diseases away. If we control our mind, senses and palate and do
some exercises by changing our life style, we can achieve a
sound health mentally and physically without drugs. Any drug, if
taken for long and large / strong doses is got to be harmful.
Indiscriminate drugging is like whipping the already exhausted
horse.
In fact, constipation is the root cause of
most of the diseases followed by indigestion. During the period
of indigestion, whatever food we take, will be converted into
poison.
However,
nature cure is the only way. Fasting for some days with intake
of 10 glassful of clean water daily should be the first step
followed by anema, for 3 to 4 days every morning. Keep the
abdomen cool by applying cold towel regularly and do lot of
exercise / brisk walk. You feel great. Flatulence,
gases, consumption, dysentery, piles, acidity etc. are the
by-products of indigestion and are caused by:
Fast and thoughtless eating without chewing properly,
especially, excessive
fat and protein.
Over-eating and eating heavy and fried items.
Insufficient exercise / water intake and having lot of stress.
Blockage of colon / accumulation of fecal matters in large.
The
modern fast life quality of food and eating habits have created
a situation today where the digestive system becomes
overburdened and is unable to process and eliminate efficiently.
Our modern life style has taken this toll on our digestive and
eliminate organs. Nature is a strict task master. She gives one
warning, sometimes two, you obey else, suffer. Remember, a
doctor is qualified for drugging and a surgeon is trained to cut
and ampulate. It is not within their fields to wash out the
system and remove toxins. The elimination of undigested food and
other waste products is as important as proper digestion and
assimilation of food. Wastes allowed to remain too long in the
digestive system berrd harmful bacteria which interfere with the
absorption of nutrients from the food we eat. To work at its
full potential, our system needs healthy food and clean water
that do not hamper the function of te colon. Remember, it is the
quality that matters and not years of life you live in bed. Once
the system is clean, try to maintain it by taking more uncooked
food, juice, soup, butter-milk and some cooked food like rice,
chapati, bread, curries, dals. Try to avoid meat, fried items,
sweets, nuts and other heavy items. Take a diet low in protein
and fat and high in fibre. DOs
Take garlic, ginger, onion, fibre like vegetables, fruits,
juice, soups, isabgol, barley, oat bran, sprouts, besides
unsweets fruits, methi dana, trifla nightly, yoghurt, lemin,
porridge, moong dal, castrol oil, calcium, herb / mint tea,
fennel, peppermint, prunes, apricots, figs, leafy vegetable,
carway. Take diet low in fat and protein but high in
fibre. Drink 3 litres of water / liquid daily. Do lot of
exercise everyday. DON'Ts
Avoid fried, refined and heavy items, oil food, sugar, sweets,
nuts, fats, colas sweet fruits, whole milk, acid forming foods,
heavy meals, pickles, papad, refined carbohydrates, spices,
yeast, eating while ill, alcohol, smoking, zarda, drugs, refined
/ processed / low fibre foods, animal fats, chemicals, drugs. It
is nut shell, we have to change our life style and adopt all
precautions. A natural way of life will emerge then, you can
remain away from various discomforts and diseases which
artificial life style begets. There are two options open to all
- one leads to health, strength, happiness and long life, the
other leads to diseases, weakness, unhappiness and pre-mature
death. the choice is yours, no one else can make the choice for
